Château Malhribes Saint-Tropez, FR
Château Malhribes is one of the oldest large estates in St.Tropez. The villa was commissioned in 1850 by an Italian count and overlooks the entire bay of St. Tropez and St. Maxime. The intervention consisted in restoring the main building, replanting the surrounding park and building a new swimming pool. The architectural endeavor within the villa was primarily concerned with restoring and clarifying the classical spatial concept, which had been greatly altered over time by various renovations. Additionally, walls to the attached storage rooms on the first floor were broken through, in order to integrate a new spacious kitchen. The design of the park emphasizes the scenic beauty and choreographs the visual references between the villa, the park and the sea.
